April 6, 2015 | Take Me Out to the Ballgame

I am so excited for my first opening day. Daddy made me my own Mr. Red Head. We took a family picture with all of us wearing our heads. Wow, we became very popular on the floor. My Doctor also wanted to get in on the fun. He had his whole team take a picture with our Red Heads. I sure am glad we could make everyone smile today. The hospital wrote an article on their blog and it went viral. We were contacted by Channel 9 news and they waned to know more. They too wrote a article which I have attached and put me on the 6 o’clock news. Pretty cool.

Check this out THIS COOL NEWS STORY!!

I seem to be the Reds good luck charm. We won today!

Also, wanna give a shout out to my Nana Sue who loves to face time with me. Can’t wait for you to get home.

April 4-5, 2015

Thank God for the weekend. Wow what a week. Today I’m going to chill and hang with family and friends. So glad to see some of Mommy and Daddy’s friends today. William and Aleisa Yusko came to comfort mommy and daddy but I was trying to tell them I’ve got this. Nora has been holding my hand since day one. Daddy’s  friend who he always beats in Ping Pong also came by, Mr Lup that creative guy. The day winded down with the Skilman’s. I also got my first oatmeal bath that helps my bottom from the chemo. I now refer to it as my jacuzzi time:)  Happy Easter everyone. As you can see below I got all G’d up for the day. I really miss my Uncle Scotty and Uncle Brent, but am grateful that they respect my barrier. I really can’t afford to get another virus. Thanks guys, promise you get extra pool time this summer.

April 3, 2015

I had lots of visitors today.  I was alert and awake all day long.  I got to hang out with my siblings, with my Poppy, my Mamaw and Papaw, my Aunt Barb and Uncle Dave, my great Aunt Mary, my cousin Betsy, my Uncle Matt, my cousin Melissa, my cousin Rhonda, and my friend Joe . I was a good boy all day, and was so tired after completing my 3rd treatment of round 1 chemo. I did really well and slept for Mommy.  I may have asked for some snuggle time in the middle of the night, but she didn’t care, she climbed right in my crib.

April 2, 2015

I woke up this morning in such a good mood. My first dose of chemo is behind me and now I can enjoy my day. Momma and Daddy are exhausted, but they keep making silly faces to make me laugh. Man if they could see how funny they look!!!!  I love it!  Mamaw and Papaw flew in from California and came straight to snuggle me. My Auntie Rah Rah sent me a package that made Momma cry.  My very own boxing gloves!!!!!  You better watch out cancer, I’m coming for you!!!!

They finally let my big brother back to see me, only they wouldn’t let him in the room. Silly rules. I can’t wait until I’m out of isolation so he can hold me. I miss my siblings.

Momma and Daddy asked their pastor to come and baptize me today. My sister held me while they prayed over me. Then he put some water over my head; if that’s his idea of a bath, then he must really be stinky!!!!

Later that night I was transferred out of the PICU and sent to the Oncology floor. You should see my room. It is so colorful and has the coolest light above my bed, I could look at it for hours, but I usually fall asleep. As soon as we got in my new room they started my second dose of chemo. I didn’t like all of he commotion, and I let the nurses know that!!! I finally fell asleep and was a good boy the whole night. I figured Momma and Daddy needed sleep too!

April 1, 2015 | Finally Back in Cincinnati

Momma was so happy to finally be back in Cincinnati. We arrived in the PICU around 12:30 am. My daddy and Poppy were waiting for me there. The doctor’s and nurses were so nice and got me all settled in. Mommy and Daddy were exhausted. They ran a bunch of tests and hooked me up to a bunch of machines. They said I better get some rest because tomorrow was a busy day…

-1:20 pm  After 3 attempts to get blood out of my little veins, they called in a specialist. He only had to stick me FIFTEEN times and use all kinds of special equipment. Needless to say, I was NOT happy and felt like a pin cushion. Mommy and Daddy were pacing the room and having a fit. They don’t like it when I am in pain. They are going to let me rest a little while before they sedate me and put the pic line in. This is what they will use later tonight to give me my super juice, kryptonite…aka chemo. Wish me luck!

-When Momma came back after my pic line was in she was not happy. She was told they had to stick me in both of my feet and then finally my arm where they were able to place it successfully. After all of that I was exhausted and slept right up to when I had to be given the chemo.

My Momma, Daddy, and Uncle Matt were by my side the whole time. I was a trooper and slept through the entire process.
